Latkamon “Pim” Pinrojkirati
Having already starred in two horrors, ‘Ghost Coins’ and ‘3AM (Part 2), Latkamon “Pim” Pinrojkirati’s most recent roles include ‘School Tales’ and ‘Grace’. Playing for the very first time in Europe as part of East Winds Chills, both films will be introduced by the actress and will be followed by a Q&A where attendees can gain an insight into the world of acting in Thailand.
‘School Tales’ sees three horrifying legends of a Thai school come to life, putting students in danger. You’ll recognise Latkamon as May, a grade 11 girl who craves attention and does not do very well in class.
In the gory cyber stalking thriller ‘Grace’ we see her star in a more prominent role as Ple, best friend to Care, the Internet idol whose online identity becomes larger than life, leading to her getting a cruel taste of the real world from Grace herself.
East Winds is honoured to welcome Thai filmmaker and screenwriter Parkpoom Wongpoom, who, alongside Banjong Pisanthanakun, co-directed and co-wrote the 2004 blockbuster ‘Shutter’. The film was the biggest box office hit in Thailand that year and in 2007, the two reunited for another megahit horror, ‘Alone’.
Parkpoom will be in attendance at the 2017 festival to introduce drama ‘Kitarajanipon’ as one of the four directors to create four beautiful short films interpreting four songs from His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej’s royal songbook. The European Premiere of the production will be followed by an audience Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to gain an insight into filmmaking.
During the weekend at The Mockingbird Cinema, Parkpoom will be chatting up Birmingham audiences before the festival’s special presentation of the 2009 horror film ‘Phobia 2’, which consists of five short stories directed by five different directors, including Parkpoom Wongpoom and Banjong Pisanthankun.
